Cloudy and rather chilly weather in Le Mans today, during the second day of scrutineering and administrative checks for all cars invited to race in the 24 hours.
This morning, the news got out that Larbre Competition's Paulo Ruberti won't be able to participate in the testday on Sunday or race in the 24 hours. Ruberti had a nasty crash at the Hockenheimring in Germany after a technical problem with the brakes of the car he was driving. He suffered a compound fracture to a lumbar vertebra and will be operated tomorrow. Larbre hasn't released any news yet about a replacement driver for the unfortunate Ruberti.
As reported yesterday, Will Stevens will drive with the #26 G-Drive Racing Oreca05 at Le Mans. His place at Manor will be taken by Roberto Merhi.
Change of personnel by Greaves Motorsport also. Jon Lancaster, who won the ELMS title with the team last year, will drive the #41 Ligier JSP2/Nissan instead of Kuba Giermaziak. Issues with sponsorship money would be reason for this. As for now the Polish driver is still listed on the car, but that might change in the upcoming days.
